There are four basic steps that you need to keep in mind in blackjack strategy.
- If the dealer's up card is 7 or higher, then continue to draw cards till you reach a count of 17 or higher.
- If the dealer's up card is 6 or lower, then continue to draw cards till you reach a count of at least 12. You can then stop when you have 12 or higher.
- When your first two cards total 10 or 11 and the dealer has a 9 or lower then double down. It means you have doubled your original bet after you receive your first two cards. Remember that when you double down then you will receive only one more card.
- Do no split any pairs except when you get a pair of aces or eights. When you receive any pair on your first two cards, you can split them into two separate hands. You can then play each hand as individual hands.
